Amy Biesemeyer MFT brings over 15 years of experience in the field of psychology. She received her BA in Psychology and Women's Studies from UC Santa Cruz and her MA in Counseling Psychology from the CA Institute of Integral Studies. She has also worked in the mental health field, directing a residential program, providing case management and facilitating groups for adults with chronic mental illness and substance abuse. To MTC Amy brings her experience as a somatically trained therapist. She helps clients build emotional resiliency and mind/body awareness to decrease anxiety, depression and substance abuse. Amy also brings her experience as a practitioner of meditation and a wilderness vision quest guide, by using accessible mindfulness techniques and connection to the natural world to foster an inner ground to navigate life's challenges. Amy believes in her clients' innate capacity for well-being and empowers them to fully love and live their truest self.
